Three-dimensional linear ion trap

The subject of this tender is supply, providing of guarantee and warranty service of the electronic device – ion trap intended for spatial localization and manipulation of atomic ions with applications in quantum optics experiments. The trap will be used for spatial localization of Barium and Calcium ions. It should allow for a stable confinement of long linear ion chains. The implemented experimental schemes will mainly focus on the precision control of their external-motional and internal-electronic degrees of freedom. The trap should include a multiple high numerical aperture optical ports for efficient excitation and collection of fluorescence from ions. The crucial parameter allowing the stable and coherent control of the motional states of ions corresponds to their heating rate in the trapping environment. The trap will be employed in an ultra-high-vacuum environment and thus all materials should possess a low outgassing rates and the whole assembly should allow for high bakeout temperatures. The trapping electrodes should have stable attachments with the precision of their relative position on the order of a few microns. For these reasons the trap should be fully assembled and prepared for the installation into the vacuum chamber without the need for its further mechanical alignment at the user site.
